Lots of new beginnings. This is the very first time I've attemted to do my own blog. Why now? Some people from church have suggested I develop a blog to share the adventures of my upcoming trip to the Holy Land. I must admit I am growing more and more excited with each passing day.
Blogging and going to the Holy Land - both are new beginnings. At long last I will venture into the very areas where Jesus walked. I leave on January 25 and return February 3.
My brother even got me a new camera with some whistles and bells to take with me. Yet another first. Now, if I can only learn how to take videos and record what's going on while also taking pictures.
I chose the title Bringing Faith to Life as this is the vision statement at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, VA, where I am one of the pastors. This statement: Bringing Faith to Life can be read one of two ways: taking one's faith into the world (to life) or experiencing one's faith becoming more alive. I suspect this trip will be both.
